February 15 2036: General Updates

Labor Union Demands

The labor unions have published official demands through the underground publication, “The Aftermarket”.
These demands include a national minimum wage, employer-provided health care, affordable health care, the right to elect labor representatives, and have those representatives sit on the Board of Americorp to represent the interests of the workers.

Blackrock Buyouts

The company Blackrock, which is not part of Americorp, has reached the milestone of owning 75% of all apartment complexes in America. It has accomplished this through a brutal combination of politcal exploitation, buyouts, and the outright seizure of private property. This has had the effect of raising housing costs to the point that the average american is now paying over 75% of their income on housing. Between increasing unemployment and rising costs, many citizens are becoming homeless and starving.

Johnson and Johnson Comforts Through Entertainment

J&J announced a concerted effort to employ resources in the service of alleviating the concerns and tribulations of the common people of America. Through a strategic diversion of focus, the delegation aims to present an array of celebrity shows and entertainment featuring luminaries such as Beyonce, Lionel Messi, and Red Bull.

United Nations Response to “Power Moves”

The United Nations has moved forward with removing Americorp from its P5 position on the Security Council. However, the UN has elected to allow Americorp to remain as a member state and not support any entities that seek to undermine the corporation’s function, provided Americorp make major concessions and introduce some form of representative government that expresses the democratic interests of the people by 2037.
